What Does Resistance Look Like?
Opra and I both get asked this question a lot: what exactly do you mean by “resistance?” And what does it look like, specifically? Also, how do I know I’ve got it?
Great questions! And I will answer them. But first, a quick and necessary reminder:
Don’t focus on it! LOL!
I know, crazy, right? I can hear you saying “I’ve got resistance, and you’re telling me how important it is to ‘let it go,’ but not to focus on it??!!”
When you notice it, you might think or talk just a bit (for a few seconds!) about what it looks like and how it feels, and then the goal is always to take your focus off of it and focus on something – anything – that’s more pleasant, anything that’s more in line with what you want. And that means from then on.
Don’t go back and dredge it back up again. Stop talking about it. Stop posting about it. Don’t join any support groups about it!...
HOW CAN I GROW MY BUSINESS?
Q- 'I have so many ideas for my coaching business. Can you help?'
A- 'Your resistance has fallen away quite a bit since last week.
We would continue with this...sensing into it, allowing it to come to fruition within your vibrant imagination.
Allowing it to speak to you rather than for you to design it.
And as you do that, as you stand in your knowing and allow all of the possibilities to wash over your awareness, it is reminding Ramona of the act of 'panning for gold'.
Swish, swish, swish, and the heavy bits, the valuable bits, fall to the bottom, in a place where they can very easily be seen and gathered.
They shine so brightly that they are very obvious.
Swish, swish, swish.
This is not pencil and compass work.
Swish, swish, swish, swish, swish.'
Q- 'Should I take action with the ideas?'
A- 'Organic, adaptive action we feel will be very satisfying to you.
Any attempt to control, to funnel at this time we believe will not be satisfying.
I HAVE A BIG VISION
Q: I have a big vision
A: “This vision is already reality, is well underway. Doubting this fact will only slow down the process.”
Q: So I should just trust it? And I don't need to keep being embarrassed? By the size of my vision? Because my vision is huge...
A: “The resistance you are calling embarrassment, is simply a habitual response, learned early. You may let this go. Slowing down something that feels like a big vision does serve one positive purpose. It keeps you from getting into too much detail. If you are consciously choosing and intending and focusing on the general, as long as it feels good, only adding detail as it feels good, backing off the detail at the slightest hint of resistance, you will not need the embarrassment anymore.”
Q: Right. The only detail is the detail basically right here that feels yummy, either in a fantasy version just cuz it's fun, or in a 'oh, I have a phone call to make' way. But not next year's phone...
Jealousy can be a tough feeling to sort out, because when we are jealous we think we are looking right at one of our desires and just being "petty" about someone else having it.
But in reality, that awful feeling of jealousy means that we are looking squarely, solidly right at the LACK of that thing we want.
And in this Opra transcript, the client is feeling the effects of focusing on a lack of financial wealth. But this can apply to any subject!

As I am thinking these days so much about all aspects of our bodies, I am seeing very clearly how my own jealousy over other women's bodies played such a large part in my own body not responding the way I wanted it to.
Of course my body didn't respond well to years of negative self-talk, focus on lack, and...
Why is my body still not responding the way I want it to?
It's a question both Opra and "Ramona the Human" get asked on a regular basis. Even from people who have been practicing Law of Attraction principles for many years.
Here's the summary version of all of the various forms of the full question that we hear: "I've been meditating for years. I know and follow all of the happiness principles. I even teach this stuff! Why am I still ___________?!"
And you can fill in that blank with overweight, sick, or any other physical "failing" you can think of. (You can also fill in "broke, single, unemployed, grieving, frustrated, etc." but those can wait for another day!)
I even asked myself that on a regular basis, before Opra appeared. "Why can't I use Law of Attraction to lose weight, when I have successfully transformed every other aspect of my life?"
And I had. I had systematically created exactly the life I wanted: Extensive travel to far-off lands, time freedom, true prosperity,...

This session was with a client who was definitely feeling the effects of Covid-19, both in a personal way, as well as in the wilder energy currents palpably circulating the planet, disrupting and replacing the older, slower currents.
As we seek to control the conditions in our lives, it can feel like the sandy ocean floor as we stand in the shallow surf. As the huge amounts of water move past us, in and out, the sand can literally disappear beneath our feet. The desire for stability is understandable, but as we experiment even a little bit with it, we discover that we can float, swim, play and jump, and the ocean bottom is always there to catch us.

A- 'The unwanted, your perception of the unwanted, as getting bigger, is purely about your very natural attempts to stabilize within the turbulence.
